Tungsten foil is primarily made up of ≥99.95% pure tungsten, which gives it incredible properties like an extremely high melting point of 3422°C, a high density of 19.3 g/cm³, and minimal thermal expansion. It boasts excellent thermal and electrical conductivity, impressive tensile strength (up to 1000 MPa depending on thickness), and outstanding creep resistance even at elevated temperatures. Tungsten foil retains its mechanical integrity in vacuum, inert, and high-temperature conditions. It’s non-reactive, offers excellent corrosion resistance in neutral environments, and can be manufactured in ultra-thin gauges with a high-quality surface finish and precise dimensional tolerances.

Tungsten foil finds its place in high-temperature and vacuum applications where conventional metals just can’t cut it. In the semiconductor industry, it’s a crucial component for heat spreaders and X-ray shielding. In aerospace and defense, it’s used for thermal protection layers and weight-balancing systems. The lighting sector relies on Tungsten foil for filaments, electrical contacts, and cathodes. Additionally, in medical imaging, it serves as a radiation shielding material thanks to its high density.
