Nimonic 80A is a nickel-chromium alloy that contains balanced nickel and about 19–21% chromium, with controlled additions of titanium (2.0–2.5%) and aluminium (1.0–1.8%). This alloy has outstanding resistance to oxidation, creep, and high temperatures. With an operating temperature range of up to 815°C, it maintains tensile strength up to 965 MPa and yield strength around 690 MPa. To improve its mechanical qualities and make it appropriate for harsh service conditions in environments with high mechanical and thermal stress, Nimonic 80A can be solution treated and age-hardened.
