About 76% nickel and 20% chromium make up Nimonic 80A, a nickel-chromium alloy with 2.3% titanium, 1.4% aluminium, and 4% carbon added. This precipitation-hardened alloy has outstanding resistance to oxidation and strength at high temperatures. Tensile strength of approximately 950 MPa, yield strength of 690 MPa, and exceptional creep resistance up to 815°C are among its typical mechanical characteristics. Additionally, the alloy exhibits favourable fatigue and stress-rupture characteristics, which makes it perfect for applications involving high temperatures, like exhaust valves and turbine parts.
