Monel manifold valves consist mainly of nickel-copper alloy—most often approximately 63% nickel and 28–34% copper—with slight amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon. This alloy provides them with better resistance to corrosion, particularly in marine and chemical environments. Mechanically, they exhibit great tensile strength, ductility, and toughness, withstanding structural integrity in high and low temperature environments. Monel valves also provide good sealing and resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking, and erosion, withstanding long-term durability and less maintenance in harsh applications involving acidic, alkaline, or high-pressure media.
