Monel K500 plates and sheets consist mainly of nickel (63%) and copper (28–30%), with added aluminum (0.3%) and titanium (2.3%) for increasing the strength of the alloy by age hardening. These products possess high tensile strength, good fatigue resistance, and excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance, particularly in marine and chemical atmospheres. Their stress-corrosion cracking resistance and the ability to retain mechanical properties at high temperatures and pressures qualify them for long–term and high–performance application in structurally critical uses.
