Monel K500 Flanges contain about 63% nickel, 27–33% copper, and 2.3–3.15% aluminum, and 0.35–0.85% titanium. These alloying constituents impart the material with age-hardening capacity, which leads to high tensile strength (up to 110 ksi), increased hardness, and superior fatigue and corrosion resistance. The flanges are structurally sound even at sub-zero temperatures and have high resistance to acidic conditions, particularly seawater. Their high strength-to-weight ratio and low magnetic permeability qualify them for use in applications requiring mechanical performance, endurance, and good sealing in corrosive and high-pressure environments.
