Monel flanges are produced using a nickel-copper alloy consisting of about 63–70% nickel and 28–34% copper, and small amounts of iron, manganese, silicon, and carbon. This alloy provides outstanding resistance to corrosion by seawater, oxidation, and acidic conditions.
