Invar 42 Bars are made up of about 42% nickel, with the rest being iron, which gives them an impressively low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE ≈ 4.5 x 10⁻⁶/°C) within the temperature range of 20–300°C. This alloy boasts moderate tensile strength (around 480–620 MPa), high ductility, and excellent machinability. It’s also recognized for its remarkable thermal stability and compatibility with borosilicate glass for hermetic sealing.
