Hastelloy C22 Tubing is crafted from a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy, typically composed of about 56% nickel, 20–22.5% chromium, and 12.5–14.5% molybdenum, along with trace amounts of iron, cobalt, and tungsten. This unique alloy provides remarkable resistance to both oxidizing and reducing chemicals, including wet chlorine, nitric acid, and ferric or cupric chlorides. Its mechanical properties are impressive, featuring tensile strength up to 110,000 psi, yield strength around 50,000 psi, and outstanding ductility and fatigue resistance.
